September 23rd Update

Helping Light the Way

The City of Knoxville, in support of the University of Tennessee and the University's celebration of 225 years, will be installing some new banners along Cumberland Avenue for the month of October and ending after Homecoming weekend (November 2).

To minimize disruption to traffic flow along the street, Traffic Engineering crews will install the banners from 4-5 AM on Tuesday or Wednesday, September 24 or 25, weather dependent. Traffic during this time can use the side streets to access White or Lake Avenues and continue on their way. Only one lane of traffic will be blocked at one time. Thanks to the team in Traffic Engineering for helping with this celebration!

Cumberland Avenue Merchants Association Intern (2019-2020)

CAMA is pleased to welcome Owen Flomberg to the position of CAMA Intern for the next year! Owen has an impressive background in helping organizations grow and organize and a lot of great qualifications including helping build a locally owned business, volunteering, and having a real estate license! We could go on, but it may be best to hear it in his own words:

"Hello! My name is Owen Flomberg and I am a rising senior at UT studying Political Economy with a focus on Development and minoring in Business Administration. I am also on a pre-law track and will be applying to law schools this fall! On campus, I am involved with several organizations including the KAPi Pre-Law Fraternity, Student Government, Swipe Out Hunger, and the Campus Events Board. I am from Knoxville and grew up coming to the Cumberland Ave area and seen the many changes that have taken place here. I am super excited to meet y'all and working with CAMA this year!"
